When We First Laid Eyes On Each Other
A "CHANCE" ENCOUNTER
January 2011
January 2011
(Terry’s perspective)
The first time Carm and I officially met was in January, 2011 at a bar in Hollywood. I was having a drink, listening to one of my friends DJ when I noticed Carm at the bar. I don’t recall how the conversation began but I do remember her energy being as warm and loving as her smile. It’s pretty rare that a woman as beautiful as her has these qualities, which allowed our conversation to last for twenty minutes or so. When our conversation ended, she mentioned that she had to catch an early morning flight back to New Mexico. Feeling a bit deflated, I didn’t even bother to ask for her number because I knew attempting anything long distance wasn’t my thing.
We wished each other well, then I leaned against the bar and watched her walk away.
“Wow, she’s beautiful” I said to myself. Then one of my friends who witnessed our conversation from afar, approached me and asked “what’s up with that?” I shrugged and said “she lives in New Mexico”. “Did you at least get her number?”.
“Nope” I replied. Then I slowly took a sip of my drink and looked at him…."If it’s meant to be it’ll be.”
